Student Rights
At Al Faris International School, we are committed to upholding the rights of our students. Students have the right to a safe and respectful learning environment that nurtures their intellectual, emotional, and social growth. Student rights include:
A meaningful education
A challenging and positive learning environment
Freedom of expression including opinions, thoughts, and ideas while engaging in open and constructive discussions
Freedom from physical and verbal harassment
Humane and respectful discipline methods
Security to report incidents of harassment
Student Responsibilities
At Al Faris International School, we emphasize the importance of students taking an active role in their educational journey and contributing positively to the school community. To this end, our students have the following responsibilities:
Students should know and respect all school rules.
Students should respect all members of the school community by being cooperative and polite both inside and outside the classroom.
Learners should refrain from disrupting the lesson.
Students must not use offensive language.
FIS has a zero tolerance policy for harassment and bullying. This includes physical and verbal abuse or slander, discrimination, racial/ethno-cultural harassment, and cyber-bullying.
Learners must respect the rules of conduct for special areas of the school (e.g. labs, library, gym, playgrounds, etc.)
Learners have the responsibility to attend classes regularly, arrive on time, and actively participate in the classroom.
Learners are responsible to regularly check assignments and announcements posted on Microsoft Teams and submit homework in a timely manner.
